New Dessa Video

Here’s some new visuals from the track, “Alibi” off of ┬áDessa’s recent album, Badly Broken Code. I’m a new fan of Dessa and Doomtree but anyone who has heard P.O.S. knows where these guys are coming from. Dessa is a spoken word artist first and a rapper after not to minimize her ability on a mic but that influence is clear in her music. Rhymesayers invested in the future when they signed P.O.S., Dessa, and Grieves. I was surprised at least but I thought it was genius. They all share the same sound, probably because of the region. That alternative hip hop that Atmosphere and Brother Ali are prime examples of.

Here’s a track from L.A. artist, Tokimonsta. She’s a producer out of L.A.’s thriving beat scene and I was first introduced to her through Flying Lotus’s music. I have to say, I’m pretty impressed with her music so far. Her new EP, Cosmic Intoxication, is definitely worth checking out if you like FlyLo or Ras G. This track isn’t on the EP but was on her myspace and its too chill not to post. Let me know what you think.

Beastie Boys

Here’s my favorite Beastie Boys track of all time. I was just thinking about this song and decided to post it. Beat is nuts, rhymes are on point. I know not everyone is familiar with their catalog but as someone who has gone through all their albums, I think this track being my personal favorite shows a lot about what kind of hip hop I like. Enjoy.

Freddie Joachim

Here’s my favorite track off of Freddie Joachim’s new ep, AM. Freddie Joachim is an amazing producer that I came across not too long ago. I think the first project from him I listened to was BRIDGEWORK which is great but I think I’ve listened to this track, called “Limits,” 18 times today. If I didn’t know any better I would lay a verse on this beat I love it so much. Let me know what you think!

Company of Thieves

Just saw this band’s video on MTV U, the only decent mtv channel and their music just stuck out to me so I had to download their album, Ordinary Riches. I haven’t listened to the whole album yet but I really like this song, “Oscar Wilde” for some reason and if you don’t like this shit you’re crazy. Enjoy.

Here’s a new track from MIA’s upcoming album, /\/\/\Y/\, thats been pushed back till July 3. Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t she sound like a psychedelic Lykke Li?

There’s beauty out there, find it.
